Weather in Goa



Goa's balmy tropical weather means that temperatures don't fluctuate much, hovering between 24° C to 29° C all the year-round.

But at the peak of summer in the month of May, noon temperatures often cross 33°C. The Goan monsoon which lasts from June to September adorns Goa with greenery all around and tourists are now coming in to see Goa at her beautiful best while taking advantage of monsoon discounts from the hotels and resorts.

Goa During Winter - Best Season Winters are the best time for the tourists to visit Goa. From the month of November to march, maximum tourists visit Goa and the tourism is at its peak during these months. December and January are the main winter months. This is the festive time in Goa. People rush to this state to celebrate Christmas and New Year with full excitement. The festival is celebrated with great zeal. There are lots of night parties on the beaches and in the hotels as well. The bookings are made in advance. Even one year prior bookings are done. This is the time when the prices are at its peak in Goa. In the month of February Goa Carnival festival is celebrated which also attracts lots of tourists. The weather is very pleasant at this time and this is the best time to enjoy in the mild climate on beaches. It is suggested to the tourists to plan and get the bookings in advance to avoid the inconvenience.

Goa in Summer: Summers are not suitable to enjoy on Goa beaches. The best option during summers is to visit wildlife sanctuaries. There are many spice plantations which provides a relief from the summer heat. The summer afternoons are sweltering, and very sultry. This is the best time for a budget holiday. Because of less tourism activity, there are many off season discounts available on accommodations, meals and sightseeing. 

Goa in Monsoon :  The monsoon arrives soon early in Goa in the month of June. The rains bring relief among the people. The summers are very hot and dry while the rains lower the temperature making the place blissful. The serene beauty of Goa is worth watching during the monsoons. People arrange parties and celebrations to welcome the monsoons. The whole place turns green with the newly sprouting rice. It is a unique experience to visit Goa during monsoons. The rivers are overflowing with water and strong winds blowing the trees the hills covered with green vegetation add charm to the picturesque beauty of Goa. The rivers flowing with the blue green water makes the place very glorious. The tides are very strong, making the Arabian Sea wild, so swimming in the sea is limited during monsoons. This is the time to discover the rural interiors of Goa. These places are as beautiful as the coastal region of Goa but are quieter and calmer than the beaches. There are many other remote options which are not very much popular among the people, like ecotourism, spice plantations etc. The tourists may face the problems in travelling during the rainy season. Heavy rains, especially in the month of July block the roads and rail and Air travelling is also disturbed. The strong wind storms also restrict tourism in Goa during rainy season.
